RASC News Agency: Local sources from Nangarhar province have reported the discovery of a shopkeeper’s body in Jalalabad, the provincial capital, following a two-month disappearance. Sources informed the media on Monday, Apr 8, that the body of the man was found on Sunday, at the onset of the current week, in the vicinity of Jalalabad city’s sixth district.

According to sources, the man identified as Aminullah was abducted by unidentified gunmen nearly two months ago. Sources further revealed that the kidnappers of the shopkeeper shot him and stabbed him with knives before burying his body underground. Aminullah, as per sources, had no personal enmity and was solely engaged in his shopkeeping activities. Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar have yet to comment on the matter.

Recent days have seen a notable surge in criminal incidents, particularly mysterious and targeted killings, kidnappings, and thefts, notably in Nangarhar province. In the most recent incident on Mar 26, a man named Khan Wali, freshly returned from Saudi Arabia, was shot by unidentified gunmen in the Pachiragam district of the province.

These reports surface amidst the group’s longstanding claims of ensuring citizens’ security post their countrywide takeover, with a pledged decrease in anti-security incidents.
