RASC News Agency: Citing local sources from Kandahar province, the Taliban recently carried out public punishment on five individuals in the region. Sources revealed to the media on Thursday, Mar 28, that Taliban members administered floggings to these individuals yesterday, based on their initial court verdict, in the Arghandab district.
The Taliban accused these individuals of “moral corruption,” resulting in each receiving 39 lashes. According to sources, the Taliban court also sentenced each of these individuals to two years in prison.
Despite domestic and international pressures advocating for human rights compliance and the cessation of public punishments, the Taliban persist in subjecting defendants to trials in their makeshift courts.
