RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s crackdown on education has led them to block school entrances, citing the presence of girls beyond the sixth grade. According to local sources, the Taliban began the process of closing schools today, on Monday, Apr 1, starting from grades seven to ten, with plans to extend this across Kabul city.
The Taliban has cautioned school authorities that they will face legal repercussions if girls are discovered in their schools. Simultaneously, the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has directed school officials not to admit unveiled girls wearing dark black attire.
During their governance, the Taliban has prohibited girls from attending schools, universities, and employment. Hebatullah Akhundzada, the secretive leader of the group, has issued over 90 decrees targeting women and girls, including advocating for public stoning and reinforcing Sharia laws nationwide.
Human rights organizations and religious scholars have condemned the Taliban’s treatment of girls and women, deeming it inconsistent with Islamic teachings and branding it as a unilateral and political tool of the group’s leader.
