RASC News Agency: According to reports from Indian media, a citizen of India has been detained by the Taliban group on charges of affiliating with the Khorasan branch of the ISIS group in Kandahar Province. Hindustan Times reported on Saturday, Mar 2, that this Indian citizen is currently held in a Taliban prison in Kandahar Province and is undergoing interrogation.

The report states that this Indian citizen is from the city of Malappuram, and the Taliban group has accused him of entering Afghanistan via Tajikistan. The individual, identified as “Sanaa al-Islam” according to reports, was reportedly detained by Taliban intelligence forces during his visit to Kandahar Province. Hindustan Times, citing the Taliban intelligence agency, added that this Indian citizen has not been able to provide an explanation for his travel to Kandahar Province.

Taliban authorities have not offered any explanation regarding this matter, despite their repeated assertions that the ISIS group has been eliminated and poses no threat to neighboring countries from Afghanistan. However, neighboring and regional countries have consistently warned of the presence and activities of terrorist groups, particularly ISIS and Al-Qaeda, in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group.
