RASC News Agency: Officials from the Taliban group have announced that at least nine individuals have lost their lives in the provinces of Helmand, Kandahar, Herat, Sar-e Pol, Badakhshan, Badghis, and Jowzjan due to snowfall and cold weather, with two others injured. According to Tolo News, citing Janan Sayeq, spokesman for the State Ministry for Disaster Management of the Taliban group, reported on Friday, Mar 1, that the rainfall has led to the destruction of three residential homes and the loss of dozens of livestock.
The Taliban official stated, “Due to cold weather and heavy rain and snowfall in Kandahar, Helmand, Badghis, Sar-e Pol, Badakhshan, and Jowzjan, at least nine individuals have lost their lives, and two others have been injured.” This comes as several provinces across the country have experienced heavy snowfall in recent days, resulting in the closure of transportation routes in some provinces.
The closure of transportation routes in several provinces has created difficulties for citizens and has occasionally led to the loss of lives due to this reason. It is worth mentioning that while poverty, lack of heating facilities in homes, and limited access to health facilities due to heavy snowfall create problems for citizens, there is hope for a better summer.
