RASC News Agency: Local authorities of the Taliban group in Balkh province have verified the apprehension of 13 individuals, including three women, on diverse charges by the group’s forces spanning different areas of this province. Mohammad Asif Waziri, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Balkh province, declared yesterday, December 31, to the media that the group’s forces had incarcerated these 13 individuals over the past week from various locales in this province, encompassing the central city of Mazar-i-Sharif.

As per Mr. Waziri, these individuals have been detained on charges of moral corruption, theft, and gambling. It is remarkable that the Taliban group, while publicizing the detention of these 13 individuals in Balkh province on various charges, themselves partake in such actions, moving about freely without any accountability. Reports indicate that despite the Taliban’s assertion to combat moral corruption and criminal activities, members of this group themselves perpetrate such actions, and there is no institution to hold these individuals accountable.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that recently, the incidence of criminal activities, including armed robberies, enigmatic and targeted killings, and abductions, believed by some citizens to be predominantly orchestrated by members of this group, has surged in various provinces of the country. According to reports, certain Taliban officials in diverse provinces of the country, even when accused of moral corruption, are released without any trial within a day or two of detention. The group remains unaccountable to any institution regarding their actions.
