RASC News Agency: Yesterday, Sunday, August 6, local sources in Badakhshan province said that a former soldier died after being tortured several times by the Taliban group in this province.

Sources said that this person’s name was “Fridon” and he was a resident of Jorm district, Badakhshan province.

According to the sources, this former soldier was arrested and tortured by the Taliban four times in the last eight months for working in the previous government.

According to the sources, in the last case, the Taliban group arrested this former soldier two weeks ago, and after severe torture, he was released from prison with the mediation of the ethnic elders of this district, and as a result of these tortures, his kidneys stopped working.

Sources add that Fridon had previously served as a local policeman in the framework of the security forces in the Ministry of Interior of the previous government for five years.

It should be noted that the arrest, torture, and killing of former soldiers by the Taliban group have taken place all the time, and after taking over Afghanistan, this group has been arresting, torturing, and sometimes even killing the soldiers of the former government under various pretexts.

Previously, the United Nations special rapporteur had written in his report that the detention, torture and extra-legal killings of employees and former soldiers by the Taliban group continue in Afghanistan.

At the same time, sources have reported the arrest and torture of six people in Bamyan province by the intelligence department of the Taliban group on the charge of possessing weapons.
