RASC News Agency: According to local sources from Panjshir Province, a snowstorm in the vicinity of the province has resulted in the loss of three lives. Sources have informed the media that this incident occurred on Monday, February 19th, in the “Qalat Safid Chehr” area of the first district of the province.
According to sources, the individuals who lost their lives due to the snowstorm were workers at an emerald mine and encountered this incident on their way. Sources further add that two of these miners were from Khwaja Bahauddin district in Baghlan Province, and the other was from the first district of Panjshir Province. Local Taliban authorities in Panjshir Province have not yet commented on this matter.
Panjshir Province is considered one of the mountainous provinces of the country. Sources in the first district of the province had stated that the snow level in the emerald mine areas reached close to one meter. This incident comes as previous natural disasters in several provinces have claimed lives and caused financial damages.
In the latest incident, earlier, as a result of a landslide caused by heavy snowfall in the Nakra valley of Nurgaram district, Nimroz province, at least 25 people lost their lives, and more than 20 residential houses were destroyed.
