RASC News Agency: In a continuation of their oppressive actions, the Taliban, in their latest maneuver, censored the image of the UNAMA chief in Afghanistan. It is reported that the image of the head of the UN’s deputy office in Afghanistan (UNAMA) during his meeting with Taliban officials has been suppressed by the group’s media.
According to reports, Roza Otunbayeva met with the Taliban’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Finance in Kabul on, January 8, engaging in discussions on various matters. It is noteworthy that over the past two years of their rule, the Taliban have been involved in severely repressive and violent behavior towards women, prohibiting their presence in society.
Reports indicate that, in their latest misogynistic actions, the Taliban have detained, harassed, and abducted dozens of women and girls from various parts of Kabul, citing Bad Hijab and failure to adhere to their prescribed dress code. Furthermore, the Taliban has issued warnings that if their prescribed dress code is not followed, relatives of “immodest” women will be imprisoned for at least three days.
Human rights organizations have condemned these Taliban actions as a sinister move to exclude Afghan women from social life and confine them to their homes. Previously, Fawzia Koofi, a political activist, commented on the Taliban’s actions, stating that the group considers women criminals and must prove their innocence.
Meanwhile, Tamim Aasi, the former Deputy Minister of Defense and Strategy in the previous government, expressed in his latest statements that the ugly culture of woman abduction for “Jihad al-Nikah” is a disgraceful historical stain on the Taliban.
