RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has reported that five Taliban members were killed in two separate assaults carried out by its forces in Herat province. According to a statement released on Tuesday, August 13, by the National Resistance Front, the first attack occurred at approximately 7:30 PM last night. This assault targeted a vehicle carrying Taliban personnel in the “Kamarband” area, located in front of the Ziarat Dasht Alan shrine within the Ziarat-Jah region of Guzara district, Herat province.
The statement details that three Taliban members, who were bodyguards of a Taliban corps commander, were killed in this initial attack. The National Resistance Front also reported a second attack that took place around 8:00 PM last night. This assault targeted a Taliban checkpoint in the 12th security district of Herat city. According to the statement, the second attack resulted in the deaths of two additional Taliban members, with one other member sustaining injuries.
The National Resistance Front emphasized that “no casualties were sustained by the forces of the National Resistance Front during these operations.” Local Taliban officials in Herat have not yet commented on the incidents. This development follows the National Resistance Front’s ongoing reports of attacks on Taliban forces and the infliction of casualties on their members across various provinces of the country.
Recently, the National Resistance Front also claimed responsibility for an attack in the Shakardara district of Kabul, where two Taliban fighters were reported killed.
