Man Fatally Shot by Armed Assailants in Kapisa

RASC News Agency: Local sources in Kapisa Province have reported the fatal shooting of a man by unidentified armed assailants. Abdul Fattah Faiz, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Kapisa, confirmed the incident, stating that the victim was killed on Saturday night in the Hesa-e-Dowom Kohistan district. According to Faiz, the assailants used a Kalashnikov rifle to carry out the attack. He further added that investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.

A local source disclosed that the man was killed under suspicious circumstances during the night. This incident adds to a growing number of mysterious killings reported across various provinces, including Kapisa, Faryab, and Kabul. Many citizens suspect Taliban members’ involvement in such incidents. Just last week, a man was similarly killed in Farah Province, reportedly by unknown assailants. He was shot multiple times, resulting in his death. Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, numerous reports of targeted killings have emerged from different provinces, casting doubt on the group’s claims of having established comprehensive security across the nation.

The steady rise in these unexplained murders, coupled with increasing ISIS-led attacks targeting the Taliban, further undermines their assertions. In one recent incident, an ISIS militant killed a Taliban fighter and injured five others in Faryab Province. Furthermore, the United Nations has highlighted the presence of multiple extremist groups in Afghanistan, warning that the country remains a significant threat to both its citizens and the broader international community.
