OCHA: This Year, 20 Million Afghanistani Citizens are Exposed to Various Risks

RASC: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan (OCHA) has announced that this year more than 20 million Afghan citizens exposed to various harms and are in need of protection services.

Based on the information published by this institution, these vulnerabilities categorized in terms of public protection, child protection, sexual violence and vulnerability from the explosion of mines and explosives. According to this international organization, more than 700 children have been killed and injured in 2022 as a result of the explosion of ground mines, remnants of war explosives and improvised explosive devices, which were mostly planted by the Taliban group.

At the same time, this organization has stated that people with disabilities in this country disproportionately affected by the current humanitarian crisis; As 2.4 million people live with disabilities.

This is while aid agencies only have the ability to help 2 million people.

OCHA has said that $170 million needed in 2023 to meet these needs.
