RASC News Agency: Recent media reports from Pakistan have shed light on the coerced expulsion of Afghanistani migrants from the country. On December 29th, a total of 1,207 Afghanistani immigrants were deported and repatriated to their home country in a singular day. These individuals were expelled from Pakistan, crossing the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings. It is crucial to emphasize that preceding the mentioned date, Pakistan had already deported over 1,100 Afghanistani immigrants, as corroborated by various sources.
The Pakistani media has been furnishing statistics on the ongoing deportation process, disclosing that an astounding 453,480 Afghanistani asylum seekers have been expelled and repatriated from Pakistan since the initiation of this initiative, spanning the past two months. However, it is imperative to recognize that many of these immigrants confront a challenging situation upon their return to Afghanistan, notably due to the Taliban’s control in the country. The insufficient accommodations for these individuals compound their difficulties.
As the forced deportation of Afghanistani immigrants from Pakistan persists and the cold season takes hold, concerns regarding the well-being of these individuals have escalated significantly. The commander of Khorasan Razavi has also verified that over 60,000 Afghanistani migrants have been deported and repatriated to Afghanistan in the past month alone. Moreover, numerous returnees from Pakistan describe the deportation process as “insulting,” asserting that it involves arrests and the confiscation of their belongings and assets. Consequently, these Afghanistani repatriates find themselves grappling with economic distress upon their return to their home country.
