RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Badghis province, the Taliban group has allegedly pillaged solar panels that supplied electricity to the streets of Sang Atash County, using them to illuminate their own residences. Reports from Badghis province, conveyed on Monday, December 25th, through visual recordings sent to the media, indicate that Taliban members in Sang Atash County looted solar panels from streetlight foundations. Sources from this county note that during the previous government, approximately “50 solar panels” were installed. However, currently, only the equipment from five electricity poles remains. The remaining panels have been dismantled and looted by Taliban members over the past two years.

Local authorities of the Taliban group in Badghis province have refrained from commenting on these allegations. Simultaneously, Taliban officials in various provinces across the country have shown minimal interest in the development and prosperity of provinces and cities. This unfolds amid a surge in criminal activities in different provinces of the country, with citizens consistently asserting Taliban involvement in theft-like incidents, some of which are purportedly executed by the Taliban themselves.

It is noteworthy that earlier, an official of the Taliban group for Jawzjan province was apprehended on charges of colluding with thieves stealing people’s property along the roads. Reports suggest ongoing infighting among the Taliban preceding the arrest of this figure. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that, according to available information, the Taliban group has exhibited disregard for government property and has not demonstrated significant attention to preserving the country’s assets, including forests and mines.
