RASC News Agency: Thomas West recently participated in discussions with world officials concerning Afghanistan-related issues. At a meeting hosted at the secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Tariq Ali Bakheet, the special representative of the Secretary-General of the organization for Afghanistan, engaged in an exchange of views with Thomas West on December 12th. The meeting centered around the challenges confronting Afghanistan and delved into potential solutions.
In the course of the meeting, the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs and Tariq Ali Bakheet deliberated on various matters of mutual interest. They explored potential approaches to address the humanitarian, economic, and other challenges currently affecting Afghanistan. Tariq Ali Bakheet underscored the commitment of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to sustain its engagement in Afghanistan, aligning with the resolutions passed by the Council of Ministers of the organization.
While the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has not disclosed further details about the meeting, it is noteworthy that the US special representative for Afghanistan has previously engaged in discussions on Afghanistan with Qatari officials and the United Nations in Doha.
