RASC News Agency: Reports from Pakistan confirm that the government has opted to revoke the passport of Sirajuddin Haqqani, presently serving as the acting Minister of Interior Affairs for the Taliban. Despite being blacklisted by the United Nations and various Western nations, Haqqani unlawfully utilized a Pakistani passport for political engagements and travel, as disclosed by Azaz Syed and Umar Cheema, distinguished Pakistani journalists, in a global YouTube program on December 6th.

The journalists underscored that Haqqani’s recourse to a Pakistani passport commenced during the Taliban’s negotiations with the United States in Qatar. Notably, there were no antecedent reports of his travels to Qatar. A confidant of Haqqani contradicted the assertions made by the Pakistani journalists, asserting that travel impediments constrained him from visiting other countries.

Moreover, amidst travel restrictions on key Taliban figures, the means by which Abdul Ghani Baradar and his entourage journeyed to Doha, Qatar, for discussions with the US remains unclear. It is pertinent to mention that the leaders of the Taliban, owing to their intimate ties with the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), held Pakistani passports. Subsequent to the downfall of the Afghanistan republican regime, the Pakistani identity cards of these leaders have been exposed to public scrutiny.
