RASC News Agency: Local sources from Takhar province have reported a conflict between native residents and Kochis, who are receiving support from the Taliban group. The clash resulted in five injuries among the local residents and transpired in the center of Dasht-e-Qala district in Takhar province. The Kochis, backed by the Taliban, have sought to seize agricultural lands owned by native residents, sparking resistance and leading to this conflict. This incident is not isolated, as similar attempts to usurp lands from non-Pashtun tribes have been observed in other provinces.

Recent reports from residents of Panjshir province and Ali Abad district of Parwan province have also highlighted the actions of Kochis supported by the Taliban. These individuals have disregarded the farmlands of the local people and instead allocated them to their livestock. Despite these trends existing prior to the recent incident, the Taliban’s support has emboldened Pashtun Kochis to carry out such acts with increased audacity. The Taliban’s control over the country has given them a sense of empowerment, leading to further encroachments on the lands of non-Pashtun tribes.

It is crucial to address these conflicts and protect the rights of native residents. Efforts should be made to mediate and find peaceful resolutions to these disputes, ensuring that the rights and interests of all parties involved are respected. Additionally, measures should be taken to prevent further encroachments and provide adequate security to the affected areas.
