RASC News Agency: Abdul Ali Qudratullah Amini, the governor of the Taliban group in Parwan province, recently made an announcement regarding the Salang highway. As per the report by the Bakhtar News Agency, which is under the administration of the Taliban group, the governor stated that the reconstruction of the highway is expected to be completed within a span of two weeks. This news was published on Wednesday, November 29th.

On Sunday, September 10th, the Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban group’s spokesperson declared the closure of the Salang highway for all vehicles. The closure was necessary for the reconstruction of the highway. In light of this, Mohammad Ashraf Haq Shenas, an official of the Taliban group, urged drivers to use alternative routes until the highway is reopened.

The closure of the Salang highway by the Taliban group for reconstruction has caused significant challenges for both passengers and trucks. It is reported that thousands of vehicles are currently waiting for the reopening of the highway. However, drivers who have resorted to using alternative routes have encountered various difficulties. These routes do not meet the required standards, and the heavy traffic congestion exacerbates the problems faced by commuters. This situation highlights the lack of attention given by the authorities to the construction of infrastructure, particularly roads and highways, which has resulted in complaints and inconvenience for the public.

Passengers and truck drivers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the closure of this highway, stating that the alternative routes are subpar and pose various difficulties. They have raised concerns about the lack of standardization and the numerous challenges they encounter during their journeys.
