RASC News Agency: According to a reliable source from the Ministry of Interior of the Taliban group, Mullah Tarakhil, a former member of the Afghanistan parliament, has been apprehended. On Thursday, October 26, the media was informed that Tarakhil’s arrest is connected to a case involving illegal land seizure. Although specific details regarding Tarakhil’s case are scarce, allegations suggest that he is being accused of engaging in aggressive and oppressive behavior.
It is noteworthy that the Taliban group’s “Prevention of Land Grabbing, Identification, and Stabilization of Grabbed Lands” commission has been operational since the previous year. This commission, established by the Taliban in various provinces, including Kunduz, claims that non-Pashton ethnic groups are disproportionately affected by land-related exploitation. The Taliban, with a well-documented history of violence and disregard for the rights of non-Pashtons, has conducted such acts as reported by the group itself. Instances of the Taliban’s responsibility for the targeted killings of citizens, particularly in Panjshir province, have also been recorded.
Prior to this incident, numerous international authorities have expressed concerns about the state of human rights within Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The international community has stressed the importance of the Taliban’s commitment to upholding human rights, including those of women, girls, and minorities, as well as the establishment of an inclusive government as conditions for their official recognition. However, the Taliban has consistently failed to fulfill any of these obligations, particularly in terms of ensuring the rights of Afghanistani women, as evidenced by reports documenting their treatment of women under their rule.
