RASC News Agency: In a recent development concerning the repatriation of Afghanistani migrants in Balochistan province, Pakistani authorities have reported the return of approximately 5,000 Afghanistani migrants to Afghanistan in the past 15 days. This influx of migrants has occurred through the Chaman-Spin Boldak border crossing, and the process of repatriating Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan is still ongoing.
Media reports in Pakistan, published on Sunday, October 15, shed light on this substantial return of Afghanistani migrants. Prior to this, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation had disclosed that 820 Afghanistani migrant families had been repatriated, either voluntarily or by force, from Pakistan.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani Ministry of Interior had earlier issued a directive, stating that all illegal immigrants, including Afghanistani migrants who entered the country unlawfully, must leave before November 1. Failure to comply will result in deportation.
The decision by the Pakistani government to expel Afghanistani migrants has elicited international reactions, prompting authorities and organizations worldwide to call for a reconsideration of Pakistan’s stance. Amnesty International, for instance, has raised concerns about the serious threats faced by Afghanistani citizens seeking refuge in Pakistan due to Taliban persecution.
Despite the international outcry, Pakistani authorities maintain that this repatriation plan is in accordance with their domestic laws, and they are resolved to enforce it.
