RASC News Agency: Heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in Helmand province have led to the deaths of nine people and injuries to four others. In one incident on the evening of Friday, Apr 19, the collapse of a roof in Tajikan village, Gereshk district, Helmand, resulted in the deaths of a woman and a child, and injured another person.

Local Taliban officials in Helmand province told the media that the roof collapsed due to recent rainfall. The Helmand Department of Information and Culture announced that in another incident on Thursday evening, Apr 18, severe flooding destroyed a house in the Abghul area of Kajaki district, resulting in the deaths of seven family members.

The victims in this incident were the head of the family, four women, and two children. Simultaneously, local sources reported that three women and a child were injured in Qazikhil district of Kajaki due to the collapse of a house wall.

Several provinces across the country have experienced heavy rainfall in recent days, causing flash floods that have led to loss of life and injuries, destruction of homes, and loss of livestock.

The Taliban previously announced that flood-related fatalities across various provinces totaled 70; with the recent incidents, the death toll has risen.
