Mawlawi Habibullah Hassam: Taliban’s Atrocities Will Not Be Forgotten

RASC News Agency: Mawlawi Habibullah Hassam, the head of the Council of Scholars of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, addressed the Taliban’s recent “Emirate Studies” examination in Panjshir on his Facebook page. He wrote, “We learned that the proxy group of extremist Kharijites presented their record in Panjshir, forcing some to participate in interviews and exams.” Calling the Taliban “extremist Kharijites,” he added, “This whitewashing will not erase the people’s memory of your dark record and the scars on their hearts from your 30-year crimes.”

Referring to the Taliban’s oppression, he emphasized, “Your record is public knowledge, and your reign of terror resonates deeply within the people.”

Addressing the Taliban, Mawlawi Hassam, a well-known Afghanistani scholar, said, “Your legacy includes excommunication, insult, slaughter, and the killing of Muslims; the destruction of infrastructure and public amenities; sowing seeds of discord, prejudice, poverty, and ignorance; destroying the education system; closing the doors of knowledge and enlightenment to half of society; monopolizing Eid, Friday, funeral prayers, and public gatherings; committing assassinations, conducting summary trials, beheading, and gunning down youths; misusing the sacred religion of Islam; imposing tribal and clan customs in the name of Islam; creating hellish prisons, torturing and humiliating mothers, sisters, and the general populace; entering into servitude agreements with the pinnacle of disbelief; causing mass apostasy among the youth; displacing six million people from their homeland; driving skilled youths abroad; destroying the army, police, and intelligence services; usurping private property; and imposing illegal, crushing taxes on the poor and deprived. Afghanistan has no further records of achievements under your rule.”

This Afghanistani cleric’s remarks came as the Taliban conducted an “Emirate Studies” exam in Panjshir, coercing people into participation. They force young people to give interviews about Mullah Omar, the group’s founder, and compel them to praise the Islamic Emirate, subsequently broadcasting these interviews on media platforms.

Notably, similar “Emirate Studies” exams have previously been held by the Taliban in the provinces of Herat, Kabul, and Badakhshan.
