RASC News Agency: Pakistani media outlets have reported that a delegation of scholars from the country, led by Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, the head of the Pakistan Jamiat Ulema, is scheduled to arrive in Kabul this Wednesday. There are indications that these Pakistani scholars might engage in discreet discussions with representatives of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during their visit. A report published yesterday, on the 30th of December, in the Pakistani Express Tribune, cites a source in Kabul confirming the visit. It adds that preparations for various meetings with the Pakistani delegation are complete, with a primary focus on addressing issues related to the TTP and resolving tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.

As reported by the Express Tribune, this strategy entails leveraging religious influence to address concerns emanating from Islamabad. The objective is to establish a framework for dialogue and gather perspectives on a wide spectrum of issues. It is noteworthy that the Taliban extended an invitation to Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman earlier this month for a trip to Kabul. This invitation aligns with heightened tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, sparked by a deadly attack in Ismail Khan Dera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 Pakistani soldiers.

Nevertheless, it is crucial to mention that, according to Pakistan, the Taliban group in Afghanistan shelters the Pakistani Taliban and orchestrates attacks against the Pakistani military from Afghanistan soil. The Pakistani government has consistently urged the Taliban to take action against the Pakistani Taliban within the borders of Afghanistan.
