RASC: Afghanistan diplomatic missions and embassies say the list of “war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law” by the Taliban is extensive.
Diplomatic missions and embassies of Afghanistan published a statement on Monday, July 3, saying that Amnesty International reported on the “heinous war crimes of the Taliban group” in Panjshir and that the artificial intelligence report documented and published evidence of illegal executions, torture and arbitrary arrests.
According to these representations, credible reports of targeted killings and summary executions of former security forces and civilians have been published in every corner of the country such as Panjshir, Baghlan, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Sarpol, Daikundi Ghor and Badakhshan.
Diplomatic missions and embassies of Afghanistan have stated that the “crimes” were primarily directed at people associated with the National Resistance Front.
This is despite the fact that not long ago, Amnesty International published a report saying that the Taliban group committed war crimes during the clashes with the National Resistance Front forces in Panjshir for at least two years.
Agnes Kalamar, Secretary General of Amnesty International, said in this report: “The brutal treatment of the Taliban group against ordinary people due to their connection with the resistance front has caused the spread of fear and helplessness among the people of Panjshir.”
Amnesty International also called for an “immediate” stop to targeted attacks by the Taliban group on civilians in Panjshir.
Meanwhile, the Taliban group in the northern provinces of the country arrested, imprisoned and tortured a number of people on charges of cooperation with the National Resistance Front, which in most cases led to the death of the detainees.
