RASC: Alexandra Mastawaja, the wife of Murtaza Behbodhi, an Afghanistani-French journalist who is imprisoned by the Taliban, published an emotional message saying that there is no love without the release of her husband.
Today (June 7), she wrote in a Tweet: “Five months have passed since my husband, Murtaza Behbodhi, was imprisoned. During this time, I have lived in the absence of love, because there is no love without the freedom of my husband. And it won’t be freedom if we don’t fight for it.”
Alexandra Mastavaja says that the above is a quote from a book that she is reading right now.
She wrote that her only wish is the immediate release of Murtaza.
Behbodhi is a journalist with dual French and Afghanistani citizenship. He came to Afghanistan on January 5 to prepare a report, and 48 hours after his arrival, the Taliban while trying to get his press credentials arrested him.
The Taliban have not said anything about Behbodi’s arrest, but Reporters without Borders says that the Taliban has accused Behbodi of espionage.
