Detention of 43 Afghanistani Refugees by Bulgarian Police

The Bulgarian state news agency, quoting the Ministry of Interior, has reported that the asylum seekers were arrested early this morning on June 4, while traveling in a truck near the city of Sofia.

Based on the report, six of the asylum seekers who were not in good health were taken to the hospital. The Bulgarian police said that the investigation about these asylum seekers continues.

On February 17 of this year, 18 Afghanistani who were planning to go to Western Europe died due to lack of oxygen inside a container in Bulgaria. After three months, their bodies were transferred to Kabul last week.
