RASC News Agency: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, has expressed gratitude to U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz for President Donald Trump’s decision to repatriate the remaining American military equipment from Afghanistan. In an official statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Waltz conveyed President Trump’s appreciation for Islamabad’s sustained efforts in counterterrorism. Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its long-standing and multifaceted relationship with the United States under President Trump’s leadership. He also reiterated Islamabad’s resolve to continue cooperating with Washington in combating terrorism.
The statement further noted that both sides emphasized their commitment to expanding collaboration in critical sectors, including information technology, energy, and mineral resources. Additionally, they agreed on the necessity of sustained dialogue on trade, investment, climate change, and public health as part of a comprehensive bilateral agenda in the coming days. Meanwhile, in an address to Congress yesterday, President Trump acknowledged Pakistan’s role in apprehending and extraditing the mastermind behind the August attack on U.S. forces at Kabul airport.
Expressing his appreciation, Trump commended Pakistan’s pivotal role in the suspect’s capture. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, confirming that the individual a senior ISIS commander and an Afghanistani national had been apprehended by Pakistani security forces near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Furthermore, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the suspect, linked to the deadly “Abbey Gate” bombing at Kabul airport, had been transferred to U.S. custody. Patel, sharing images of the suspect’s arrival at Dulles International Airport, stated that the handover was executed in coordination with the U.S. Department of Justice and the CIA.
