RASC News Agency: Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, they have denied half the country’s population access to education, effectively closing schools and universities to women and girls. This regime’s detachment from contemporary knowledge and education has led them to shut down educational institutions for female students. Over the past year, they have repurposed teacher training colleges into religious schools, using these institutions to indoctrinate extremist and terrorist groups.
Since displacing the Americans, the Taliban have established hundreds of new schools, including jihadist institutions in every provincial center, with plans to set up six to ten such schools in each district. Reports over the past three years reveal intense competition among Taliban commanders to build these religious schools and madrassas, with those constructing the most being praised by the group’s leadership. This expansion of jihadist education occurs in a country still dependent on American aid, where poverty forces people to extreme measures for survival.
The critical question is: Why is UNICEF funding these schools? Does the organization not realize that its support is turning Afghanistan into a haven for global terrorism? Is this financial assistance not a betrayal of the millions of Afghanistani women and girls denied education by this regime? While the Afghanistani people understand the sinister and destructive motives behind these initiatives, they remain silent, left as victims of geopolitical maneuvering.
