RASC News Agency: Sarajuddin Haqqani, the interim Minister of Interior Affairs for the Taliban group, asserted during a gathering in Gardiz city, the capital of Paktia province, that it would be advantageous if the United States officially acknowledges this group; however, if it refrains from doing so, it is inconsequential. These statements were delivered last Thursday, Feb 8, by the interim Minister of Interior Affairs for the Taliban group during a public assembly, where he emphasized that the Taliban group had compelled the United States to withdraw from Afghanistan through the force of arms.

In a video released by this Taliban official, he remarked: “Joe Biden made a prudent decision; he acted swiftly; we were prepared for conflict, they retreated.” Moreover, he indicated that this group could endure up to 10 years awaiting recognition by the United States. The interim Minister of Interior Affairs for the Taliban group articulated these declarations while the group has persistently implored countries, particularly the United States, for recognition.

This situation arises despite more than two years of Taliban governance, during which no nation has acknowledged this group owing to widespread human rights violations and the oppression of citizens.

Adherence to human rights, particularly women’s and girls’ rights, the establishment of an inclusive government, and the cessation of affiliations with terrorist organizations are among the prerequisites that the international community has stipulated for the formal recognition of the Taliban group.
