RASC News Agency: Ahmad Saeedi, a political activist, stated, “The third Doha meeting will not address the recognition of the Taliban or human rights issues. Instead, three key principles will be discussed.” In an interview with Mr. Yaqoub Yasna from RASC, Saeedi remarked, “Whenever the U.S. decides not to resolve an issue or sees no benefit in its resolution, it delegates the matter to the Security Council. Sometimes, discussions are held with NATO and certain Arab countries, but ultimately, the responsibility is shifted to the Security Council.”
He added, “The Security Council cannot effectively resolve the issue or expedite its conclusion because the U.S. does not actively pursue a resolution, knowing it does not serve its interests. Consequently, the matter remains unresolved.” Saeedi mentioned that the United Nations has regretted and retreated from promises made to the Taliban regarding the third Doha meeting. One of the conditions was the exclusion of women, but an American spokesperson has stated that the presence of women is essential at this meeting.
He reiterated, “The recognition of the Taliban and human rights issues are not on the agenda for this meeting.” Mr. Saeedi further explained, “The meeting will focus on three main issues: narcotics, the environment, and assistance from the U.S. and the international community to help Afghanistan stand on its own feet.”
Saeedi emphasized that the meeting holds no significant news value and will only result in a statement declaring, ‘We discussed issues such as narcotics and the environment.'” The third Doha meeting, chaired by the United Nations, is scheduled to take place in the coming days. The Taliban have been invited and will participate.
It is worth noting that the United Nations has already withdrawn from some of the promises made to the Taliban.
