RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has issued a directive to the group’s Directorate of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance to impose night curfews on public movement after 10:00 PM as summer begins. According to the directive, a copy of which was obtained by the media on Tuesday, June 27th, only patients and individuals with urgent needs will be permitted to move about during curfew hours.
The directive does not specify any particular province but requests relevant authorities to implement this order in both urban centers and districts. The Taliban have not yet officially commented on this matter. However, night curfews imposed by the Taliban are not a new development for Afghanistani citizens.
Previously, the Taliban had imposed various restrictions on citizens’ lives, including curfews on nighttime movement in several provinces. In April of this year, the Taliban enforced a night curfew in Aybak, the capital of Samangan Province, instructing all their forces to prevent individuals from moving about late at night.
