RASC News Agency: According to reliable sources, Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban group, has issued a directive to replace the governors of Kabul, Daykundi, and Nimroz provinces. Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban group, conveyed this message on Sunday night, November 26th. In compliance with the leader’s order, Mohammad Aman Obaid, the former governor of Daykundi, has been succeeded by Mohammad Qasim as the governor of Kabul. Additionally, Mohammad Qasim Khalid, the former governor of Kabul, has assumed the role of the new governor of Nimroz, while Najibullah Rafi, the previous governor of Daykundi, has been appointed as the governor of that province.
Simultaneously, changes have also been implemented in the security commanders of specific provinces. Mohammad Sharif Halimi, the former security commander in Maidan Wardak province, has been designated as the security commander in Paktika. Conversely, Abdul Qayum Hilal, the former security commander in Paktika, has been reassigned as the security commander in Maidan Wardak. It is noteworthy that these appointments come at a time when the Taliban group has refrained from making significant changes in key government positions since regaining control over Afghanistan. However, alterations in provincial leadership have been a consistent occurrence.
It is crucial to underscore that the Taliban leader has issued an order to replace governors in three provinces of the country. This development aligns with an escalation in attacks by opposing factions, particularly in Kabul. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the Taliban leader had previously made new appointments in response to heightened covert operations against their forces and positions in the northern provinces.
