RASC News Agency: Local sources from Ghazni province report that Jaghori district residents have begun repairing local roads under Taliban pressure. On Tuesday, May 7, sources told the media that after a warning from the Taliban district governor in Jaghori, residents were compelled to start repairing rural roads in the district.
According to the sources, Taliban members visited villages in Jaghori district, forcibly removing people of all ages from their homes and compelling them to participate in road repairs. Recently, the Taliban district governor in Jaghori sent a written notice to all village leaders in the district, instructing them to ensure roads were repaired under duress.
The notice also stated that anyone who defied the Taliban’s order should be reported to the group for punishment. During their nearly three-year rule, the Taliban have frequently resorted to violent and coercive measures against citizens, suppressing the population.
