RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced that floods in Ghor province have displaced 1,073 families from their homes, forcing them to live in open areas. According to a message shared on Monday, May 6, on the X platform by the Taliban’s Ministry, the floods have completely destroyed at least 562 homes in the Balamerghab district of Ghor province.
The Ministry stated that the floods partially damaged over 303 other homes in the Balamurghab district. Additionally, the natural disaster caused destruction to agricultural lands, power plants, trees, and orchards located in the flood path and also blocked roads.
Recent heavy rainfall across several provinces in the country has led to devastating floods in some areas. Furthermore, the recent natural events in Uruzgan, Herat, and Helmand provinces have claimed the lives of at least 10 people and resulted in significant financial losses for residents.
