Holding Two Meetings in New York and Brussels About Afghanistan

 RASC: Scott Smith, the head of the political department of the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan or UNAMA, in a meeting with the head of the Taliban group’s deputy prime minister’s office, announced the holding of two meetings in New York and Brussels regarding Afghanistan in the near future.

The citadel under the control of the Taliban group said this Tuesday morning (June 6) that Mawlawi Zakir, head of the guarantor office and political deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, met with the head of the political department of UNAMA and the representative of the World Bank for Afghanistan.

Scott Smith, head of the political department of the Office of the United Nations Assistant in Afghanistan or UNAMA, said that he is trying to work closely with the Taliban in order to end poverty and prepare basic services for Afghanistani people.

He added that in the near future, two meetings about Afghanistan will be held in New York and Brussels, and UNAMA encourages the participants of these meetings to provide more assistance to Afghanistan.

The representative of the World Bank said that the World Bank continues to cooperate with Afghanistani people in humanitarian and health fields.

Mawlawi Zakir said that a large number of Afghanistani people are facing economic problems and the aid needs to be increased and continued.

He said that Afghanistan needs help in agriculture, health and infrastructure reconstruction.
