RASC News Agency: Sources from Kandahar province reported on November 27th that the Taliban’s Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice agents have intensified their strict measures by setting up checkpoints in the city. These agents have been conducting searches of the youths’ mobile phones and prohibiting them from shaving their beards or styling their hair. Furthermore, they criticize and discourage the youth from listening to music.
According to the sources, the Taliban agents in Kandahar city have been making the youth stand on the streets for extended periods of time while they thoroughly inspect the contents of their phones, including photos and videos. If any video or photo is found on the phones that goes against the will of the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the agents threaten and warn the youths. The agents of the Taliban group are constantly monitoring sports events, markets, stores, and entertainment programs.
In addition, officials from the Ministry of Education have verbally cautioned athletes, particularly football players in Kandahar province, to wear full clothing during matches to ensure that their arms and legs are not visible. Employees within the system have also disclosed to the media that they have received verbal instructions not to shave their beards, wear headscarves, dress modestly, and take religious teachings seriously. These orders are given verbally, and an official from the Taliban group has stated that these restrictions on the youth of Kandahari are due to the presence of Mullah Hebatullah, the leader of the group in the city.
