RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat province report that agents from the Taliban’s Department for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice have recently detained four residents of the province. On Wednesday, May 1, sources told the media that after Afghanistan’s national futsal team qualified for the 2024 World Cup, shopkeepers in a commercial market in Herat celebrated by dancing.

However, according to the sources, one day later, Taliban agents from the Department for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided the commercial market in the Gulha Square area of Herat and detained four individuals. Sources added that the Taliban took the four residents of Herat province and, after transferring them to their Department for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, imprisoned them in a container.

Additionally, the Taliban’s intelligence department in Herat arrested and imprisoned a young man for carrying the Afghanistan tricolor flag. Throughout the Taliban’s more than two years of rule over the country, they have imposed increasing restrictions on the private lives of citizens.
