RASC News Agency: Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Afghanistan’s representative in Geneva, has recently emphasized that there is global consensus on achieving peace and upholding the human rights of the Afghian people, yet substantive actions in this regard have not been undertaken. Andisha raised this issue during the session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Thursday, February 29th, urging countries to take more decisive actions in this matter.

He underscored that the global community must not ignore human rights violations and international laws in Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Continuing his remarks, Andisha urged member countries of this organization to refrain from legitimizing the Taliban regime. He scrutinized some countries’ relationships with the Taliban, asserting that the Afghanistani people do not forget nations that have disregarded their plight and engaged with this group.

Andisha cautioned that the human rights situation in Afghanistan under Taliban rule is deteriorating day by day. Meanwhile, Richard Bennett, the UN Human Rights Council’s special rapporteur for Afghanistan, echoed concerns during the council’s fifty-fifth session, highlighting the increasingly dire human rights situation in Afghanistan.
