RASC News Agency: Local sources in Takhar province have confirmed a tragic incident that unfolded in Taleqan city, the provincial capital. On October 16, reports received by RASC news agency unveiled a horrifying story – an individual entered a residential house in the “Khaskapa Karta Akbar Khan” area and ruthlessly gunned down eight members of a family. Among the victims were a newlywed couple, parents, and other close relatives, leaving a devastating trail of loss and sorrow.
Disturbingly, it was revealed that four family members succumbed to the shooting, while four others sustained severe injuries. Tragically, within the victims are two women, two children, and even the murderer’s fiancé.

The complex web of this shocking event has further unraveled with the Taliban officials in Takhar province disclosing the identity of the perpetrator. The merciless act was committed by Abdul Sattar, who happens to be the son-in-law of the slain family. Although he managed to escape the scene, the Taliban fighters have pledged their utmost efforts to capture him. In a promising development, it has been reported that the Taliban have already apprehended an individual believed to be an accomplice in this gruesome incident.

This distressing occurrence is a mere fragment of a disturbing trend characterized by mysterious and targeted assassinations conducted by unidentified assailants in different provinces across the nation. Recent incidents underline the gravity of the situation, such as the heart-wrenching deaths of two individuals in Kandahar province, subjected to being bound and murdered by armed men. Additionally, the discovery of a young man’s tortured body in a water canal in Nangarhar province invokes deep concern and introspection.

Consequently, while the Taliban authorities assert their efforts to curb national security threats by confiscating unregistered firearms from irresponsible individuals, the surge in criminal activities including armed robberies, abductions, drug trafficking, and selective assassinations in various provinces raises serious doubts regarding their claims.
