RASC News Agency: Quoting local sources from Panjshir Province, the Taliban, in their continued arbitrary detainment of civilians, have recently apprehended two non-combatants from the region. Sources informed the media on Thursday, February 29th, that these two individuals, named Mohammad Jan and Fahim, were detained by the Taliban from the “Zaman Kor” area of Onaba district in this province during the past week.

According to the sources, the detainees were subjected to physical violence by the Taliban during their arrest. While it is yet unclear why the Taliban detained these two individuals, sources add that they are civilians with no affiliation to any group. Meanwhile, the detention of former government officials and civilians, especially those from Panjshir Province and Kabul, is unprecedented, as the group has previously detained them in various incidents.

Reports indicate that four residents of Panjshir Province were apprehended by the Taliban from the villages of “Darakhil” and “Marashtan” in Rukha district of the province over the past week and were transferred to Kabul. Despite being repeatedly accused of widespread human rights violations, particularly against women, girls, and former soldiers, during their over two-year rule, the Taliban have remained unaccountable for these actions.
