RASC News Agency: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party in Pakistan, has asserted that their party encountered defeat in the country’s parliamentary elections due to its endorsement of the Afghanistani Taliban group during the electoral process. The leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan articulated these sentiments during a press conference convened in Islamabad on Wednesday, February 14th.

According to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, electoral malpractice orchestrated by “anti-Islamic international powers” resulted in his party’s defeat, and he asserted their intention to protest against the election results. Maulana Fazlur Rehman declared, “Their transgression lies in bolstering the stability of the Taliban group in Afghanistan and nurturing peaceful relations between Pakistan and this group.” He additionally emphasized his refusal to accept the election outcomes and announced plans to launch protests against them, underscoring that his party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, only secured 4 seats in the elections.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who contested for a seat in the National Assembly from the Dera Ismail Khan constituency, suffered defeat against Ali Amin Gandapur, an independent candidate associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party. According to media reports, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is among the personalities who endorse the rule of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, with certain media outlets labeling him as a spiritual mentor of the Taliban group.
