RASC News Agency: Hojatullah Mujaddidi, the head of the Afghanistan Independent Journalists Union, has recently stated that journalists and media personnel in Helmand province face multiple challenges. Mr. Mujaddidi made these remarks on Sunday, February 11th, during his meeting with journalists and media officials in Helmand, emphasizing that local Taliban authorities should address the challenges faced by journalists.
Mujaddidi further stated that if the economic challenges of journalists and media outlets in Helmand are not addressed, media activity in this province may come to an end. Meanwhile, Wahidullah Wahdat, the head of the Journalists Union in Helmand, has stated: “Journalists in Helmand are facing a dire economic situation. Additionally, local media outlets are also facing economic challenges.”
This comes as journalists and media personnel have faced numerous challenges during the two years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, a situation that has been largely overlooked by Taliban officials.
