RASC News Agency: In the wake of reports signaling the dismissal of nearly five thousand employees from the Directorate of Educational Supervision and Teacher Education, the Ministry of Education under the Taliban has recently asserted that none of the staff members of these entities have faced termination. As per an announcement released by the Taliban’s Ministry of Education on December 31st, this group has consolidated the public leaderships of Teacher Education, Educational Supervision, the Science Center, Social Movements, and Literacy Duties into a unified administration known as the “Directorate of Teacher Education and Vocational Development.”

Within the ministry’s statement, the Taliban group outlined that appropriate positions have been considered for the additional staff members. According to the Taliban, this newly formed directorate aims to provide educational, academic, and vocational support for teachers and administrators to elevate the quality of education. However, employees at the Taliban’s Ministry of Education have voiced that this move has resulted in the loss of their jobs, leaving them unemployed. Some have alleged that among the five thousand individuals rendered jobless due to the elimination of these entities, some “Taliban infiltrators” have been reintegrated into the structure of the Taliban’s Ministry of Education.

In response to these allegations, the Taliban’s Ministry of Education clarified that appointments within the Teacher Education and Vocational Development are conducted based on appointment documents and within the framework of applicable laws. Throughout this process, priority is granted to teachers of Darul Uloom and members of educational supervision from the previous structure.

These developments arise amid earlier reports indicating that nearly five thousand employees nationwide have become unemployed due to the dissolution of these institutions. At a time when the country grapples with an economic crisis, and the economic situation of the people is unfavorable, the actions of the Taliban exacerbate this already challenging scenario.
