RASC News Agency: According to sources in Kabul province, two brothers, university professors from Panjshir province, were recently apprehended by the Taliban’s intelligence forces in Kabul. The media was informed on Monday, December 11th, that these individuals were arrested on Saturday, December 9th, from the 11th district of the city. Identified as Mohammad Atif Dahi and Mohammad Asif Dahi, the professors were reportedly teaching at private universities. The reasons behind their arrest remain unclear, and they are currently being held in prison under the supervision of the Taliban’s 40th intelligence unit.

It is crucial to note that one of the professors, Mohammad Atif Dahi, was not involved in any activities against the Taliban. However, sources indicate that he encouraged numerous teachers and young individuals from Panjshir to enroll in an unlicensed private university. As a result, these students now find themselves in a precarious situation, leading them to file complaints. It is uncertain whether his arrest is directly related to this matter. It is worth mentioning that the Taliban has a history of targeting and mistreating residents of Panjshir, often on false grounds such as being affiliated with the opposition front led by Ahmad Massoud.

Furthermore, it is concerning that the Taliban has recently escalated their violent actions against non-Pashtun citizens. They have subjected these individuals to suppression under various pretexts, displaying a lack of accountability to any governing body. This increase in aggressive behavior towards non-Pashtun citizens is a cause for alarm and raises questions about the Taliban’s respect for human rights and the rule of law.
