RASC News Agency: According to recent reports, the finance ministry of the Taliban has boldly asserted that the level of administrative corruption in all departments under its jurisdiction has now been reduced to zero. Ahmad Wali Haqmal, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s finance ministry, broached this subject on Saturday, December 9th, emphasizing that the relentless efforts of the finance ministry in combating administrative corruption have garnered praise from numerous international entities. The spokesperson attributes this substantial progress in the anti-corruption campaign to the unwavering dedication of many employees and managers within the Taliban’s finance ministry.
These statements from the Taliban’s Finance Minister arise at a time when widespread reports of administrative corruption within various departments under the Taliban’s control and involvement of their affiliates have emerged across different provinces of the country. According to reports, a corruption incident led to the recent arrest of the head of the passport office for Parwan province, charged with bribery and corruption related to passport issuances for citizens of this province.
Concurrently, based on information, officials within the Taliban’s management of the Breshna power company, under their control, are allegedly trading stored household electricity to factories and commercial centers in return for bribes. This revelation comes in contrast to the Taliban’s claim, following their country takeover, that they are actively combating administrative and moral corruption. However, reports of such actions by their own members are now coming to light.
It is crucial to note that, based on available information, there is no organized judicial institution to thoroughly investigate and take effective action in response to these incidents and the detained individuals.
