RASC News Agency: In the ongoing saga of forcibly expelling Afghanistani refugees from Iran, Ahmad Vahidi, Iran’s Minister of Interior, asserted, during a visit to the Unauthorized Immigrants and Foreign Nationals Return Center in Karaj, that services are not extended to undocumented Afghanistani refugees. Information obtained by RASC News on Saturday, December 9th, reveals that Vahidi, while inspecting the return center in Karaj, stated that undocumented refugees are initially apprehended and subsequently repatriated to their home country. Mr. Vahidi reported that in the past three months alone, 27,700 undocumented Afghanistani refugees have been initially detained and then expelled to their homeland from this center.

This unfolds at a juncture when the coerced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan and Iran has escalated in the past month, with thousands being repatriated daily. According to the latest reports from Iranian authorities, in the past week, 13,000 Afghanistani migrants have been forcefully expelled from Iran and returned to their country. It is noteworthy that the alarming trend of forcibly expelling Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan and Iran has sparked considerable apprehension among refugees, particularly former military personnel and women’s rights activists. These individuals contend that returning to the country poses a grave threat to their lives.

Furthermore, the situation of expelled migrants from Pakistan and Iran is distressing, and these individuals emphasize that their concerns have been exacerbated with the onset of winter. It should be underscored that following the Taliban group’s seizure of power in Afghanistan, the migration of citizens from this country to neighboring nations, especially Pakistan and Iran, has heightened for diverse reasons.
