RASC: Sources from Bamyan province confirm that the income of the Taliban governor for Bamyan is estimated only from bribes of one million Kabuli/Afghani rupees per month.
An intelligence source and several sources from civil institutions under the administration of the Taliban group say that this amount is collected through the purchase and sale of government posts in a number of directorates, as well as blackmailing aid agencies.
According to the sources, Sarhadi is putting pressure on the institutions through the sector directorates who are responsible for monitoring the work of the relief institutions and in this way forcing them to pay ransom.
On the other hand, a number of Bamyan citizens also claim that Mohammad Khan Ghazi, Mr. Sarhadi’s brother, has been appointed by the Bamyan provincial government office as the person in charge of supervising the work of relief organizations, and he is forcing this organization to give a specific share to their fighters in relief programs.
These citizens also add that in implementing most of the development projects in Bamyan, the governor’s brother is a partner with private institutions and labor contracts, and this issue has caused the development projects to not be implemented with the necessary criteria and standards.
The discussion of the financial corruption of the governor of Bamyan is not summarized here, but a source from within the local Taliban group, who did not want to be named, said that soon the documents of border involvement in narcotics production and trafficking, as well as the names of the directorates through it makes extortion and bribery public.
