RASC News Agency: In a continued series of incidents involving explosive remnants from historical wars across the nation, detailed reports from three provinces shed light on three instances of mine and grenade explosions. According to sources on Monday, December 4, the occurrences unfolded in the provinces of Kandahar, Ghazni, and Farah, leading to one fatality and three others sustaining injuries. In Kandahar province, reports indicate that on Sunday, December 3, a mine explosion took place in the Shamir Castle area of Shirabad village in the Maiwand district of the aforementioned province, claiming the life of an 18-year-old youth.
Conversely, updates from the Jaghori district in Ghazni province conveyed that a 12-year-old boy suffered severe injuries due to a grenade explosion in the village of Gardan Hotqol in the aforementioned district. Furthermore, available information reveals that two children in Farah province were injured in a mine explosion on Friday, December 1, in the village of Shiwaan, Balablok district aforementioned province. This situation arises as, in the past, munitions left over from wars in various provinces have led to the loss of lives or injuries among civilians.
It is worth noting that UNICEF had previously designated Afghanistan as one of the countries contaminated with remnants of war mines, emphasizing a reduction in demining efforts in the country. Afghanistan, having endured years of conflict, grapples with unexploded ordnance from these wars, occasionally resulting in the loss of lives among its citizens.
