RASC News Agency: In response to the installation of 62,000 security cameras by the Taliban group in Kabul, Amnesty International called this action by the Taliban group a fundamental violation of the rights of the Afghanistani people.

On Friday, September 1, Amnesty International quoted human rights expert and consultant Matt Mahmoudi as saying that the installation of security cameras in public places is an example of the cruel policies of this group under the title of ensuring people’s security against Afghanistan citizens.

Mahmoudi said in this regard: “The implementation of such a broad plan of mass surveillance under the title of security is an example of the continuation of the cruel policies of the Taliban group against the basic rights of the people in Afghanistan, especially women in public places, which this group has violated since two years.”

According to this international organization, the installation of these cameras destroys the rights to privacy and freedom of assembly and expression, which have been under unprecedented attack since the Taliban recaptured Afghanistan.

Amnesty International added, before this method was used by Israel to perpetuate oppression and tyranny against Palestinian citizens, and in New York for racial discrimination by the police.

The Ministry of Interior of the Taliban group said that the purpose of installing this number of cameras is to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent the occurrence of criminal crimes in the capital.

Meanwhile, a number of Kabul residents have described the installation of these cameras in the city as an action that this group has taken to curb the movements of their opposition fronts.

It should be noted that the Taliban group has imposed many restrictions on the lives of citizens, especially women, since their domination of the country.
