RASC News Agency: Continuing the alarming trend of youth suicides across various provinces, sources in Faryab report the suicide of a 16-year-old in this province. According to sources in Faryab, the teenager, named Azizullah, took his own life yesterday, Friday, December 1st, upon returning from work in the village of Kaman Gar in the Qarghan district of the province. Based on information gathered from sources, Azizullah hanged himself in his home, bringing an untimely end to his life.

The intricacies surrounding the reasons and motivations behind this incident remain elusive. Yet, it is imperative to acknowledge that, precedent to this occurrence, young boys had taken their lives owing to verbal tensions with their fathers. Notably, the local Taliban authorities in Faryab have refrained from providing comments on this matter. Against the backdrop of recent events, it is essential to underscore the alarming surge in the suicide rate among Afghanistani youth, particularly in Faryab province. A poignant example lies in the incident four days ago when a young boy and girl in the Dolat Abad and Bilcheragh districts of Faryab province similarly chose to end their lives.

Crucially, it is vital to highlight that since the Taliban assumed control in Afghanistan, the frequency of suicides among the nation’s citizens has seen a marked escalation. According to experts, a confluence of factors, including poverty, unemployment, familial challenges, mental health issues, and the stringent constraints imposed by the Taliban, contributes to individuals making the decision to terminate their lives.
